Description:

YCp19 is the same as YRp17 but contains, in addition, the centromere DNA (CEN4) from S. cerevisiae chromosome IV, resulting in transfromants that maintain the plasmid even under non-selective conditions, during mitosis and meiosis. The vector is ampR. It comprises a 3.6 kb EcoRI-BamHI fragment containing the CEN4 element which replaces the 0.4 kb EcoRI-BamHI fragment of YRp17.
