Description:
|
plasmid YIp352 can be used as a cloning vector for Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Escherichia coli and as a vector for selecting DNA sequences containing a replicon for S. cerevisiae. DNA sequences can be cloned in the lacZalpha region providing detection of E. coli transformants containing recombinant plasmids on the basis of their Lac- phenotype. Bacteria harboring recombinant plasmids make colorless colonies. Plasmid YIp325 contains several unique restriction sites in the lacZalpha region, downstream from the lacZ-initiation codon; the sequence with the cloning sites is the same as in M13mp18.
